Deck the Halls
Deck the Halls
Correct us if we’re wrong, but don’t the lyrics say to deck the halls with boughs of holly not the kitchen or living room? This year, we are taking the lyrics of our favourite carol literally and doing just that, using the staircase as the centrepiece of our festive decorations.
Is your staircase the first thing you see when you open the front door? A wonderful way to make your home feel fabulously festive is by wrapping the handrails with threads of forest green garlands, real or faux. For a minimalist, elegant look, keep it green, with the occasional red velvet bow every four spindles. If you like a little light, strings of tiny white lights look wonderful wrapped in and around the greenery.
Presents under the tree is traditional, granted, but why not go a little off piste and place chicly wrapped gifts on every other step.
In short, anything your tree can do, your staircase can do just as well if not better! Send us photos of your festive staircases, we’d love to see them. And check out our latest Pinterest board for some more inspiration, which features our very own festive staircase!
